Poetry Writing Classes

Poetry classes will be offered through The Stratford Poetry Society beginning in October, 2009.  This will be a 6 week program, Monday evenings at a venue, yet to be determined,  in the city of Stratford, Ontario.  The cost of the 6 week program will be between $40 and $60 depending upon the costs of the location.  This is an open class for all ages, but is a beginner, basic program to get people with an interest in poetry writing off to a start.  It’s for all of the people who have written poetry, write poetry or want to write poetry.  It’s for everybody who feels called to make art with words!  We will focus on different forms, using prompts, and inspiration.  We’ll also touch on classic poetry.  There will be some sharing of work and suggestions for improvement.  Those who are uncomfortable sharing will not be forced to do so.

All participants in the program will have the opportunity to have a piece(or more) of their work along with their bio, published in the Stratford Poetry Society’s Anthology of Poetry that will be published in 2010.  All will receive a certificate of completion at the end.

We need a minimum of 6 registered students to run the classes.  More details will follow once we have that number.

Please register with a deposit of $10 payable by cheque to Carolyn Parsons, 292 Wettlaufer St. Tavistock, On. N0B 2R0.  You will be fully refunded the deposit should we not get enough participants.  The remainder of the fees will be due one week before the first class.  For further information please email breezedaze@gmail.com
